Consilium Design planned and created the grounds for Parkview Senior Living, the site is part of a redevelopment project encompassing approximately 4.6 acres.  We began working with a plant palette of indigenous and naturalizing plant materials. This is found particularly within 12 different bio-retention or “rain garden” basins that are strategically located throughout the property, facilitating infiltration and groundwater recharge.

Consilium designed a circuitous walk that encircles the building, providing residents with a walking trail featuring fragrant, textural plants that are familiar in a home garden. The result is an environmentally responsive and attractive outdoor environment for residents that provides a buffer to the surrounding neighborhood.

Parkview is an assisted living facility in the St. Louis suburb of Affton, Missouri, Parkview Senior Living provides much needed senior housing integrated into an established residential community.
