Craig L. Karn, ASLA, ULI, NAHP, PLA, LEED, Principal
With thirty two years of practice in landscape architecture and land planning, Craig Karn, Principal and founding partner of Consilium Design, Inc. brings a wealth of experience in community design and real estate development to his work. Craig has achieved success on many complex and controversial projects through an emphasis on highest quality design and effective communication that creates excitement about building great communities. Craig’s range of experience includes large scale land development planning, golf communities, mixed-use master planned communities, and the design of a variety of neighborhoods and urban places.
Kristie McDowell, PWB, NAHB, Director of Business Operations
Kristie uses her strong financial management & business skills to allow Craig and the Consilium Team to focus on design. She is responsible for financial & business dealings of the firm, from human resources to accounts payable & receivable.
Jeff Wohlfarth, PLA, Senior, Principal
Jeff has been practicing landscape architecture, land planning and urban design for over twenty years. Jeff’s project work has taken him throughout the United States and abroad working in urban, suburban and rural environments. His planning and design experience includes mixed-use, residential, TOD, corporate, education, medical, plaza, park, and open space projects. Jeff excels at leading large scale projects through the planning, design and construction process, transforming vision into memorable built environments with lasting value. Jeff is a licensed landscape architect in California, Colorado and Texas.
T. Barnabas Kane, Senior Landscape Architect
Barnabas is a second generation landscape architect and planner, with an approach that blends architecture, landscape architecture, ecology, art, and community planning skills. Because of his passion for the field, he intents to influence every project and client to design the best possible project while improving all the cultural and ecological systems involved. His design philosophy draws from a broad spectrum of disciplines with projects ranging from sustainable agriculture to off-grid tiny homes. He looks at every project as an opportunity to treat people as change agents, an integral part of the solution for repairing our relationships with our compromised planet, thus optimizing the potential of every design challenge with people, place and purpose.
Barnabas has a diverse portfolio of projects from around the country and offers a very robust skill set, along with excellent artistic design abilities and people/project management skills. He is a permaculture instructor, a regenerative practitioner, has taught at the ASU design school and presented to many diverse audiences including the National Greenbuild Conference. He founded Skywater, a rainwater harvesting company, 10 years ago to fill a local market niche and to promote the technology. As a regional water management expert, Barnabas has been interviewed by the Wall Street Journal and has received numerous accolades, including a Sunset magazine award and been a featured designer in local, as well as national publications like Cowboys and Indians and Better Homes and Gardens magazines.
Kim Ketchel, Director of Business Development
Kim Ketchel brings over 20 years of business development, marketing and client relationship management experience to the Consilium Design team. She spent many years in the media industry and has most recently consulted with a variety of companies on marketing and sales strategy. Her experience spans industries such as Real Estate, Education and Digital Advertising, where she has held new business and marketing leadership roles. Kim also led product marketing, public relations and the corporate branding of Jones Media Group (now Westwood One), where she served as the VP of Marketing.
Dane J. Huffman, Associate
A graduate of Colorado State University, Dane J. Huffman has been with the Consilium Design team since 2005, and has gained a wide range of experience with his time here. With skills in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Sketch Up, Arch GIS, Flash, Auto CAD, Dane is able to assist in providing new alternatives in presenting, processing, and completing projects from start to finish. In addition to his knowledge with new technologies, Dane has a strong hand graphics and a good eye for designing great spaces.
Kevin Kiernan, Landscape Designer
Kevin was born and raised in Colorado. His enthusiasm for the profession stems from working on a ranch, and seeing the important relationships between flora, fauna, and their environment. As a graduate from Colorado State University, Kevin has a broad knowledge of new technologies, programs, and rendering techniques. He is pleased to be a part of the profession, and looks forward to learning and growing with the Consilium Design team.
Kaitlyn Weimer, Landscape Designer
Kaitlyn is an ambitious landscape designer with a broad range of design acumen coming from recognized firms from the East Coast. Her experience spans from residential developments, hospitality projects, to urban planning. She has a strong passion for creating compelling work in every market sector believing that, within each project, there is a special opportunity to create compelling places… places that tell a story unique to each site. Her designs aim to utilize the qualities of the site, respond to the environment and address users’ needs in order to produce innovative and precisely detailed designs that create a unique sense of place and timeless moments.
Keath Flint, Landscape Designer
A Master’s of Landscape Architecture graduate from University of Colorado Denver, Keath has developed a passion for a variety of project types including green community design, transit-oriented development, and open space design. Growing up in Juneau, Alaska he found a love for interpreting the way people describe the world around them, which quickly translated to a knack for sketching, rendering, and all types of presentation graphics. Keath is eager to bring his skills to the table while furthering his knowledge of landscape architecture and community engagement with the Consilium Design team.
